This coffee is a blend of 100% Arabica beans from Brazil, Ethiopia and DR Congo. The high quality coffee from Brazil has come from a group of smallholder producers in the Mogiana coffee-growing region. Harvesting here is usually done mechanically with a quality sort after harvest and before the drying process. The area where this Ethiopian coffee comes from is lush with vegetation and fertile farming land, perfect for growing these amazing beans. DR Congo has an equatorial climate, the ecosystems and landscapes are diverse and rich. The areas surrounding Lake Kivu, where our coffee is from, are rich in minerals. Many of the farms also have lush mountains surrounding the region and natural shade for the coffee trees. These 3 coffees work so well together, bringing lots of different elements to this fantastic complex coffee.
To experience these beans at their absolute best, grind as and when you need them, altering the grind to suit the brewing method. Espresso - fine, Mokapot or aeropress - fine to medium, Chemex - medium grind, Filter - medium to coarse, Cafetiere - coarse.
Great Taste Judges' commented: "A rich thick, dark crema to this espresso that delivers a bright acidity with floral, cherry notes on the tasting. A lovely, light tobacco and tart blackcurrant flavour is present in this coffee and it has an extraordinary syrupy mouthfeel."
